In its 18th year, StreetFest is the signature annual festival hosted, produced and presented by the Concession Street Business Improvement Area. The festival is presented in a street closure setting on Concession Street from Upper Wentworth to East 25th Street drawing over 20,000 attendees annually.
The 2014 edition of StreetFest is dedicated to the community and the environment, thanking attendees for supporting the businesses on Concession Street and communicating to the community about the upcoming 2015 street reconstruction, streetscaping and renaissance on Concession noting that there will be a new face for Concession thereafter but Concession will be OPEN FOR BUSINESS throughout 2015.
The festival promotes eat & shop local, healthy & natural choices, and health & wellness. This year the 3 R’s being Reduce, Reuse & Recycle meet the 3 F`s being Family, Fun & Free.
Annually, over 100 BIA businesses, craft & local vendors, organizations and programs are showcased in the MarketPlace on the street. The festival program is comprised of music, dance and entertainers of a diverse cultural nature with an emphasis on children and the family.
A great day on Concession Street for the entire family. Live music, crafts, vendors and food, from Upper Wentworth to East 25th. Great music, entertainment and performer line-up. See community displays and presentations. Participate in activities, contests and games.
Cycle, Run, Walk or take the Bus, Concession Street is fully accessible. Quick access from the lower city neighbourhoods as you can even walk up the Wentworth Stairs right to the event and leave the car at home. Visit the shops, services and restaurants on Concession Street. Start the day earlier at the Hamilton Mountain Farmers’ Market on Viewpoint Avenue, open at 7:00 am.
