EVENT PLANNING 101 - from the Chapter dealing with Rain & Weather

A horse and wagon ride in the rain is not great for you or the horse and wagon master. Fire eaters can't safely juggle in the rain; besides fire and water are not friends. Electricity in the rain is not a good idea. The sound equipment and the bands have a bit of an issue with that beyond just getting wet from the rain. You want ‘hot’ buttered corn on the cob, not ‘wet’ buttered corn on the cob! A hotdog or sausage on a soggy wet bun is not much fun either. In the vendor MarketPlace, we would have had local baked fresh strudels; today it would have been local placed wet puddles. So that ends the Concession lesson on how weather affects a great event.

On a positive note, we loaded the fresh corn on the cob, still in the husks, into the Neighbour to Neighbour van for delivery to the food bank and people were bringing canned goods and other non-perishable items, even in the rain. These items can be dropped off at Mountain Bookstore, 560 Concession and will be stored until the new FallFest date. Please continue to do this or store those non-perishable items and bring them to FallFest for your FREE corn on the cob, all fresh and new for the rescheduled date.
